Superior Dog Fence: Your Trusted Invisible Dog Fence Installer

Please reach out to us if you cannot find an answer to your question - We'll be happy to answer any question.

Our process is clean, precise, and designed to be nearly invisible. Most concrete driveways and sidewalks are divided into square sections separated by expansion joints. These joints often collect dirt, gravel, and debris over time. We start by thoroughly cleaning out the joint, then use a masonry saw to cut a small, shallow groove across it. The perimeter wire is carefully placed in this groove and secured before being covered to keep it protected and out of sight.

Most dogs learn their new boundaries within 7 to 14 days. Our training process is simple and customized for your dog’s personality to make learning quick, safe, and effective.

No — this is a common misconception. During the initial training process, your dog learns where the new boundaries are and experiences a mild correction only when stepping beyond those limits. Once your dog understands and respects the boundary, corrections become rare or even unnecessary. Many dogs go years without a single correction. However, it’s important to continue putting your dog’s collar on daily to help reinforce the habit and maintain consistency.

No — and here’s why. Many other companies sell expensive maintenance and battery plans to generate ongoing revenue from their customers.

Battery Plans:
Some companies charge up to $100 per year, per collar just for replacement batteries. Over 10 years, that’s an extra $2,000 if you have two dogs.

With Superior Dog Fence, that’s money you keep — because our Premium and Standard Plus systems come with rechargeable collars. Simply plug them in when needed — no tools, no extra costs, and no waste.

Maintenance Plans:
Other brands may charge around $330 per year for a maintenance plan — that’s more than $3,000 over ten years, often close to what you paid for the entire system!

The truth is, hidden fences require very little maintenance.

With Superior Dog Fence, you’re protected with a lifetime warranty on our systems and collars. In the rare event of an issue — such as a break in the buried wire — most repairs cost less than $200, meaning you only pay for what you actually need, when you need it.

 Yes!

We have worked with almost every breed, and size of dog - Every dog we have worked with has been trained to respect and stay within their new established boundaries.

Our Dog Moms & Dads now have the peace of mind their pup is safely contained - No more worrying.

Yes — the static correction is completely safe, and harmless for your dog. It’s a mild, momentary sensation designed only to get your dog’s attention — not to cause pain. In fact, the correction uses less energy than the tiny static shock you might feel in your home after walking across carpet and touching a doorknob. It’s simply a gentle reminder that helps your dog respect the boundary and stay safely in the yard.

We recommend for best results at a minimum of:

Your dog be at least 3-4 months old.

Be familiar/acclimated to his new home, and family for at least a week.

In the process of learning basic commands such as sit and stay.

Collars are very light and designed with all dogs in mind to wear comfortably. We recommend your pet weigh at least 5 pounds.

Some companies like to 'muddy' the water by using a marketing terms like "Commercial Grade" so they can try to justify high prices for their products.

To answer this question, the answer is Yes!  If you have a "Commercial Grade" DOG our fencing systems will work for your "Commercial Grade" dog!

The truth is we only use Premium and tested products. We stand behind all our fences with a No Hassle, Life-Time Guarantee to keep your dog safe for life.

 Yes.

There is no limit to the number of pets you can contain with the containment system. It’s as simple as purchasing an additional receiver collar for each pet. You can purchase additional receiver collars online or contact our customer care center.

Yes, the receiver can be placed on certain non-metallic collars.  Be advised: do not attach a leash to a collar that has a receiver on it. This can cause additional pressure on your pet’s neck through the contact points in the collar.

Our Premium System Collars have a rechargeable battery that only needs to be charged 4 times a year, or about 3 months between charges.

On our Standard System, our collars use a standard, and inexpensive 6V battery (it costs about $2/battery). The longevity of the battery may vary depending on how often your dog tests its boundaries. But in most cases, the battery will last 3–4 months and, in some cases, could last up to 6 months. It is important to check the battery status regularly.

Once your pet learns the boundary, they may be reluctant to cross it to go for walks or car rides. But having a regular routine when taking your dog for a walk will teach them that it is fine to leave the yard while on a leash with a family member.  With repetition your dog will learn this behavior. Before you take your pet across the new boundary area, remove the receiver collar. Make sure your pet is wearing their standard collar, and attach a leash to the collar.
There are 3 ways to take your pet outside the boundary area:

  1. You can also walk your pet out of the new boundary. Give a command such as “Time for a walk, or OK” at a specific place on the boundary, such as the end of your driveway or sidewalk. Always leave the boundary with a leash at this place, and your pet will associate leaving the pet area only on a leash, only at this place, and only with a family member.
  2. If you're going for a drive, you can put your dog in the car and simply drive them out of the perimeter area.
  3. You may also carry your pet out of the pet area.

Your dog can wear their collar throughout the day. Put their collar on in the morning and remove it before going to bed. Here are some additional tips for the health and comfort of your dog:

  • Proper fit of the collar is important. A collar worn for too long or made too tight on the pet’s neck may cause skin damage. Ranging from redness to pressure ulcers, this condition is commonly known as bed sores.
  • When possible, reposition the collar on the pet’s neck every few hours.
  • Check the fit to prevent excessive pressure.
  • Never connect a lead/leash to the electronic collar; it will cause excessive pressure on the contact points within the collar.
  • Wash the dog’s neck area and the contacts of the collar weekly with a damp cloth.
  • You may need to trim your pet's hair in the area of the contact points for your system to function properly. However, never shave the dog’s neck; this may lead to a rash or infection.
  • Some pets have sensitivity to the contact points in the collar, a condition similar to bed sores in humans. You may find after some time that your pet is very tolerant of the collar. If so, you may relax some of these precautions.

If redness or soreness is found on your pet:

  • Discontinue use of the collar until the skin has healed.
  • If the condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinarian.

No, it is not recommended to do this because the contact prongs could potentially press into the neck of your dog if your dog pulls during walks.

GPS collars can be useful — but only in the right situation, such as on very large properties (10 acres or more) where installing a buried wire isn’t practical.

However, there are several important drawbacks to consider:

  • High Cost: Each GPS collar can cost $800 or more, plus a monthly service fee.

  • Daily Charging: Most GPS collars must be recharged every day.

  • Limited Containment: Many low-cost GPS collars don’t actually contain your dog — they simply track location.

  • GPS Drift: GPS collars rely on orbiting satellites to determine location, and signal drift can cause your dog’s boundary to shift by 20 to 200 feet from one day to the next.

For example, if you’ve ever used GPS while driving and noticed it telling you to “turn now” when the turn is still ahead (or already behind you) — that’s GPS drift. This can cause serious containment issues, as your dog’s boundary might move unexpectedly, even across the street.

For most homes, a wired fence is far more reliable, consistent, and maintenance-free.
